Wine:

It has all the makings of a truly great wine! The 2022 red Moulin-à-Vent opens with restraint, detailing fine notes of pepper, spice and stone fruit, cherry in particular. Sober maturation preserves its pure, luscious fruity flavors, framing a juicy structure with fine tannins, built for ageing. A youthful wine on the verge of revealing its full potential, it deserves to be kept a few months longer before being paired with a rack of veal with thyme or duck aiguillettes.

Vinification:

Hand-harvested, 25% whole bunches, cold pre-fermentation, aged 18 months, 40% in French oak barrels.

Color:

Bright, intense red.

Nose:

Notes of pit fruit and cherry, underlined by peppery touches.

Palate:

Pure and bright, this juicy cuvée releases a juice made for ageing, with fine tannins that will be perfect for drinking in a few months' time.

Serve between 16 and 18°C.

Venison jig, pork mignon with morel mushrooms, rack of veal with thyme, duck aiguillettes.

Moulin-à-Vent celebrates its 100th anniversary! A century of existence sealed by the first delimitation of an appellation which, back in 1924, was already claiming the unique and superior character of its terroirs. The decree of April 17, 1924 laid the foundations for a prestigious history.

This iconic Beaujolais cru thus celebrates an extraordinary longevity, built on commitment and a constant quest for quality. The old Gamay vines planted on granitic sands, rich in iron oxide and silica, produce concentrated, juicy grapes, giving rise to the region's finest wines, which have nothing to envy the most prestigious cuvées from Burgundy or the Rhône.

So, what better ambassador than Château du Moulin-à-Vent to illustrate these 100 years of reign?

Owned by the Parinet family, Château du Moulin-à-Vent is one of the appellation's most fervent representatives. With 30 hectares under organic management (certified from 2024), this iconic appellation cru boasts remarkable terroirs, over 70% of which could soon be classified as 1ers Crus...

A key player in the vineyard, the estate is constantly increasing its influence, raising its standards a notch higher: high planting density (up to 14,000 vines per hectare), organic farming since 2013, horse-riding of the oldest vines, naturally low yields: the estate is dedicated to quality.
